Partners for World Health is a non profit organization that provides humanitarian medical supplies to developing countries, and helps to improve the local environment by collecting goods that would be discarded by US hospitals and nursing homes. Shipments are sent to developing countries around the world to help those less fortunate. PWH also coordinates medical mission trips to various parts of Africa and Asia.

Working at PWH is a rewarding experience. Every day is different, whether we are shipping a container of medical supplies to Senegal, or Bangladesh, educating and working with our volunteers or organizing a medical mission. It is an open and dynamic environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Pay any debt as it comes due for payment, including credit card payments
Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
Process bi weekly payroll for employees
Conduct a monthly reconciliation of bank account
Monitor all donations and annual fund campaign
Conduct quarterly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Maintain petty cash fund
Work with Treasurer to prepare and manage financial statements
Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements
Assemble information for external auditors on an ongoing as needed and annual basis for the audit
Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain the annual budget
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Purchase and reorder supplies and equipment as authorized by management
Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business admin., or equivalent business experience
Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
Working knowledge of the Quickbooks accounting software and Excel
Outgoing positive personality, ability to motivate others, multitask and think on your feet
Friendly disposition and willingness to pitch in as needed around the office
Comfortable working independently on assigned projects

Part-Time position 15 hours/week Hours and days to be mutually determined.
