The Downeast Coastal Conservancy (DCC) seeks an Executive Director to oversee the management and stewardship of conserved lands and easements; engage in fundraising and marketing, including preparation of grant applications for land acquisition; and participate in community outreach, including outdoor group activities. The Executive Director, based at DCC's office in Machias, ME, oversees a staff of two and an annual budget of approximately $250,000, primarily derived from annual fundraising, with special land acquisition projects developed around capital-campaign fundraising. Love of the outdoors, familiarity with land conservation policies in the State of Maine, and the ability to develop collaborative relationships with State agencies and other conservation groups are desirable characteristics for the successful applicant. The Director is responsible for management of the organization’s annual budget, the annual audit, and financial reports to the Board of Directors.
