Looking for an exciting and rewarding position? Bread of Life Ministries is now hiring for a Full Time Shelter Manager position.

Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds is a must, such as homelessness, substance abuse, and mental illness. Applicants should be able to access community supports and resources, as well as the ability to work independently and as a team.

Job duties include: displaying the ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment and supervising staff which are maintaining guest safety, treating guests with dignity, respect, and compassion, conducting screening and intakes for new clients entering shelter system, attending to telephone inquiries, ensuring guests follow rules and policies of the shelter, performing hourly security checks, and working collaboratively with clients and other staff.

Bread of Life is committed to modeling and maintaining a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere for clients at the shelter. Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment screening.

The Shelter Manager is responsible to plan, organize, implement and coordinate services of the Bread of Life Ministries' Homeless Shelters, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including budget, policies, procedures, and staff supervision. Under the general supervision of the Associate Exeucitve Director, the manager operates the Shelters in conformance with institutional regulations and guidelines from the State of Maine. The Shelter Manager works with Case Management and other shelter staff to facilitate their interaction with the clients, other staff, volunteers, and other significant members of our community.

Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds including persons with disabilities, behavioral health issues, and families with children
Ability to multi-task in a ever-changing environment
Knowledge of Social Service system
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Supervisory experience

Competitive salary ($30-$32k), health benefits, dental benefits, retirement and vacation/sick/personal time.

Bachelors degree in related preferred, but not required.

Position will work at the 155 Hospital St. location in Augusta.
