Vice President, Loan Operations Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as Vice President, Loan Operations. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing and monitoring the day to day assigned operations of the Loan Operations teams. Ensuring all assigned objectives are met and all work is completely timely and accurately. This position can be based out of our Newport, NH or Ellsworth, ME locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Acting with the usual authority of a department supervisor advising on policy questions, resolving problems, evaluating staffing requirements, performing employee appraisals, recommending promotions, coaching managers, establishing and coordinating training and cross training needs, recommending salary adjustments, and ensuring Bank policies and procedures are followed.
+ Scheduling and conducting regular departmental meetings to review, explain or institute new policies and procedures and continue with the ongoing education of staff. Resolving employee questions, suggestions, and problems. Follow-up on pending and open items.
+ Managing the work flow within the loan teams to ensure quality control standards, task distribution, daily deadlines, and assignments are met.
+ Process all required FHLB filings; coordinate FHLB visits, audits, etc.
+ Process all required FRB BIC monthly filings, annual certification; coordinate and prepare for all FRB audits.
+ Monitor HMDA and CRA process to ensure filings are submitted timely and correctly.
+ Assist Loan Operations with daily duties as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
+ Communicating and working with related departments to guarantee a smooth and accurate transition of information and paper flow within the organization.
+ Acting as a liaison between the Company and loan vendors as needed.
+ Proactively reviewing, analyzing and recommending new methods and procedures to ensure ongoing efficiency.
+ Participate in loan related projects as needed.
+ Maintaining prescribed security and accounting controls to protect the company and its employees from criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure.
+ Identify, review and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations which affect assigned functional areas. Ensure compliance with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust policies and procedures.
+ Enthusiastically support the Bank s Guiding Principles and Brand Behaviors.
+ Adhere to regulatory requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act.
+ Comprehend and adhere to federal banking regulations in accordance with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust s policies and procedures.
This position requires a candidate with the following knowledge, ability, and skills:
+ College degree in business management or related field
+ Minimum of 5 years of loan operations/processing experience
+ Minimum of 5 years managing employees
+ A proven ability to manage a team and communicate effectively.
