About the Job
Personal Support Spec (PSS), Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA), Certified Residential Medical Aide (CRMA)

This position provides physical care and support services for the health care and needs of our Sisters that reside at Frances Warde Convent, a 16-bed private residence .

o PSS certification.
o At least five to seven years related experience
o Must have demonstrated teamwork, excellent attendance and job performance
o Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities
o Valid drivers' license

o Prior experience in a healthcare or religious organization strongly preferred
o Understanding and appreciation of the traditions and culture associated with the Sisters of Mercy

o Sensitivity to Mercy charism/tradition.
o Ability to create a caring and compassionate environment while professionally administering to the health care needs of an elderly population
o Ability to deal effectively with emergency situations
o Ability to communicate effectively with elderly
o Understanding of health care systems
o Knowledge of medical equipment that might be used by elderly
o Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and processes
o Protection of PHI and general rules surrounding confidentiality.
o Ability to work as a team member
o Must be flexible to the hours, schedule and demands of the position
o Ability to maintain regular attendance

o Provide direct care to the sisters
o Respond to medical emergencies
o Assist in the coordination of programs and services that adequately address the biopsychosocial needs of sisters
o Adheres to individualized care plans and procedures, assisting sisters with daily living personal care including: bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, hair care, toileting, bed changes, meal related tasks, and other daily activities. Assist sisters with body positioning, ambulation, lifts, and transfers.
o Observe and report any changes or concerns of sisters' conditions to Licensed Nursing staff.
o Communicate, support and monitor new orders, and update to programs and procedures directed by the Nurse Manager.
o Answer call lights promptly and assist other employees.
o Function as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible.
o Accompany Sisters to medical appointments as needed
o Assist in promoting and maintaining a safe home environment for our sisters
o Assist in food preparation and food serving for sisters as needed
o Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed
o Other duties as required or assigned
o Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, and other required meetings
o Scheduling will involve evening and weekends as needed
